Electrical Engineer

Job Description

PRS is an engineering services company looking for a dedicated and self-motivated Electrical Engineer with experience in the electric power industry. Our company’s services include protection and control design, protective relaying applications, automation and integration solutions, commissioning, and training. We are looking for an individual who is proactive, driven, and willing to be challenged.


  • Apply and set microprocessor-based protective relays for electric power generation, transmission lines, substations, distribution networks, and industrial power systems
  • Complete relay settings files, coordination studies, logic diagrams, operational descriptions, and settings basis documentation
  • Design, program, and test substation HMIs, automation controllers, gateways, and network and serial communications equipment
  • Develop solutions for event collection and sychrophasors
  • Complete detailed protection and control electrical designs for both new and retrofit installations
  • Use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to create or update relaying one-lines, front views, bill of material, AC three-line diagrams, DC elementary diagrams, cabinet or enclosure wiring diagrams, and cable schedules
  • Complete any project related documentation
  • Functional test and commission protective and integration devices on-site
  • Develop training material

  • Display strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to work overtime (if required)
  • Exude independence and a sense of ownership in your work
  • Project professionalism, maturity, and an ability to work in a team environment


  • Four-year ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering with strong academic credentials
  • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Two to five years of industry related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • AutoCAD or MicroStation experience


Expected travel is approximately 25%
